When the market gets noisy, calm advice and personal service matter more than ever.
In uncertain times, people naturally want to feel more in control. We see it every day. After years of market upheaval, rising interest rates and fast-changing headlines, clients are looking for calm, clarity and a sense of connection with whoever is looking after their money.
That’s what we set out to offer when we launched Rocq Capital. A boutique investment firm, rooted in Guernsey, built on the strength and experience of a team that had already worked together for many years. We saw the opportunity to create the kind of business we’d want to be part of and the kind of service we’d like to receive ourselves.
“Strong enough to be listened to, yet personal enough to listen.”
We started modestly but steadily. Today, we believe we are the largest privately owned independent investment manager on the island. Strong enough to be listened to, yet personal enough to listen. That balance matters to us and our clients.
We’re proud of the way the business has grown. Much of that growth has come through word of mouth — introductions from thoughtful, wise folk who’ve been kind enough to recommend us to family, friends and colleagues. It’s one of the greatest endorsements we could receive. And we know the only way to earn that trust is to keep delivering it through strong returns, honest service and the reassurance that comes from feeling properly looked after.
Our team, handpicked and close-knit, works in the heart of St Peter Port. It’s not unusual to see clients, prospects and other professionals dropping in to see us. We’re always happy to have the kettle on. And that regular face-to-face contact helps keep our relationships real.
Of course, investment management is a serious responsibility, particularly in a climate like today’s. Our clients are facing more unknowns: inflation, rate expectations, geopolitical instability and shifts in regulation. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. But there is a right approach. Calm, well-researched and built to last. That’s how we manage money.
Our process is proven, and our returns have remained steady across a range of market conditions. We offer a full suite of investment strategies to suit different goals, from cautious capital preservation to dynamic equity growth, and we treat every account with the same care, whether it belongs to a private individual, a pension fund, a RAT, a trust or a government body.
What underpins all of this is our independence. When we completed our management buyout from the Edmond de Rothschild Group in 2016, one of the biggest changes we noticed was how quickly we could act. There are no bureaucratic delays or off-island sign-offs. We make decisions together, in-house, with everyone contributing. That sense of shared accountability makes for better outcomes and a happier team.
We also take great pride in our role within the island. You’ll see our name at events large and small, from the 80th Liberation Day Party at L’Eree to charity swims, padel tournaments and school swim platforms. Supporting the community is something we all believe in, and it’s become part of who we are.
We don’t try to be the loudest voice in the room. But we do believe there’s value in being here, being local and being available. In an industry where more and more decisions are made elsewhere, Rocq Capital is becoming more deeply embedded in the roots and rocks of the island.
If that sounds like the kind of investment partner you’ve been looking for, we’d be pleased to meet you.
You’re always welcome at Rocq.
